Q. Which leading clothing brands do you stock?
A. Our most popular clothing brands are Seasalt Cornwall, Lily & Me, Thought, Adini, Mousqueton and Nomads. However, we have ranges from less well known companies. This is why shopping with Kitty Brown can be such fun. You can discover great clothing from brands new to you.
Q. Do you sell shoes and boots?
A. We do. We sell slippers as well as our range of outdoor footwear. We stock shoes, boots and slippers from leading companies. Some of our leading brands are Rieker, Art, El Naturalista, Birkenstock, Ruby Shoo, Fly London and Heavenly Feet. We have other brands with wonderful styles to discover.
Q. Do you have a shop?
A. We do. You can visit us at 2 Ashtrees Way, Carnforth, Lancashire LA5 9BQ. We are on the pedestrianised walkway been Booths supermarket and Market Street.
Q. How do I find Carnforth?
A. Carnforth is about 2 miles from junction 35 of the M6 motorway. There are regular buses from Lancaster and the 555 bus that runs from Lancaster to Keswick via Kendal stops in Carnforth. There are trains from Lancaster, Preston, Leeds and Barrow-in-Furness.
Q. What are your opening hours and where can I park?
A. Our shop is open Monday to Saturday 10 o'clock to 5 o'clock. We are closed on public holidays. You can park for free in Booths car park for two hours. The car park is a minute or so's walk from our shop.
Q. Can I try on?
A. We have a changing room for clothes and we have some lovely comfortable seats to use when trying on footwear. Of course, there are mirrors to check out how you look.
Q. How long does it take for on-line orders to arrive?
A. If you live around Carnforth it can sometimes be just a few hours as we deliver in our own van. If you live away from the Morecambe Bay area we aim to send out parcels the next day. We will send parcels express to be delivered on the next working day if you order before 4pm. We send parcels to be signed for on arrival.
Q. Can I return on-line orders?
A. Being a very small business we do not offer free returns. However, for current season stock you can return on-line orders and we will refund you the cost of the goods.
Sale goods bought on-line cannot be returned. If the price has been discounted this counts as sale goods and we will not accept returns. We closely examine all items before shipping to try to ensure they are perfect regardless of whether they are in season or sale.
If something escapes our inspection and there is a fault, we will accept a return and give you a full refund regardless of whether the goods are in season or sale.
Q. How accurate are the website colours?
A. We try to ensure the colours are representative of the actual colours. However, computer and mobile screens are all different. This means your device may not render colours completely accurately. Also the camera used or the post processing may change colours. It is a little like the way colours look different in daylight compared to artificial light.
Q. Do you stock everything from each of the brands?
A. No. We try to take what we consider to be a selection of the best from each brand each season. By doing this we can ensure outfits can be built from pieces from different brands and you will look sensational!
Q. What is your attitude to environmental issues?
A. Firstly, we do not sell 'fast fashion'. We stock pieces that are designed and made to last. We use paper and recyclable packaging wherever we can. We try to stock brands that have an emphasis on not damaging the environment. This can mean using organic materials, being vegan friendly, avoiding excess packaging and limiting miles travelled by goods. We recycle as much as we can and unlike some companies we restock returns (rather than destroying them).
Q. You mentioned veganism above. Do you stock vegan shoes?
A. We certainly do! Ruby Shoo and Heavenly Feet both do large ranges of vegan friendly footwear. There is nothing dowdy or fuddy duddy about the shoes and boots from these companies. Check out their pages on this website and you will see what we mean.
Q. Do you deliver to the European Union?
A. Unfortunately, we do not deliver to countries in the European Union at the moment. Since the UK leaving the EU courier costs have become much too expensive with carriage often exceeding the price of the clothing or footwear being sent. We will review this regularly and if delivery costs become less expensive we will resume. We apologise to our European customers and hope you will be able to shop with us again soon.
