Our first shop opened in 2008 on Carnforth Railway Station. It was very small and very much away from the town centre's other shopping. However, by visiting locations with pop-up shops and evening fashion events (something we still do) we spread our name and we were able to move to a larger shop in the town centre in 2012.
In 2018 we expanded into next door which became our footwear shop. We cleaned, decorated and fitted out the shop in a fortnight with much of new stock of shoes arriving the very day before we opened. We finished at 3 o'clock in the morning to open our doors 6 hours later.
We are located in the market town of Carnforth just off the motorway between Kendal and Lancaster, Carnforth has a number of independent shops as well as all the essentials. Located on Ash Trees Way, a pedestrianised walkway between Booths supermarket and Market Street, we are open from 10am-5pm Monday to Saturday except for public holidays.
We stock leading clothes brands such as Adini, Lily & Me, Nomads, Sugarhill Brighton, Brakeburn and many more often small exclusive labels. Amongst our shoes and boots you will find Birkenstock, Rieker, Heavenly Feet, Lunar and Urban to name but a few. We have a comprehensive range of scarves, bags, jewellery and essential extras. We have an increasing focus on sustainable products from Roka, Pretty Pink and Nomads amongst others and we also stock a range of vegan products.
Looking for a gift? We also have a selection of beautiful stationery, candles, room scenting and ornaments. In addition, to complete your gift we have a super selection of greetings cards. If you still can't decide, we sell gift vouchers for use in store in £5, £10 and £20 denominations

Meet the team
The team at Kitty Brown Boutique are varied, fun, hard working and full of a range of skills that all help to create a great experience for you the customer!
Caroline - Owner and co-founder
Caroline co-founded Kitty Brown Boutique in 2005 and has since developed it into a successful, independent clothing and footwear store. She is the chair or Carnforth Chamber of Trade and loves promoting the town. She is also a director of The Growing Club, supporting women wanting to start a business of their own.
Trueman - Assistant Retail Manager
Trueman is the mastermind behind our windows and design and is Caroline’s right hand. They do all the buying for the shop together. She loves creativity, good books and running around after her two gorgeous boys.
Pamela - Shop Assistant
Our longest standing member of staff she is incredibly stylish and is the display mastermind. Pamela’s favourite thing to do is to be out on her bike enjoying the beautiful countryside that surrounds us.
Ella - Sales and Digital Marketing Apprentice
Ella can be seen in the shop, at fashion shows or behind a computer screen adding to the website and updating our social media accounts. She is currently working on a degree apprenticeship in digital marketing at the University of Central Lancashire. Ella can regularly be found with her friends and family or out shopping for her godson.
Emma - Shop Assistant
Emma is the master at the shoe stock room, finding space where there is none to be found and organising unlike anyone we have ever met. When she isn’t in the shop you can find her crafting on a range of projects or tending her stunning garden. We would be lost without her!
Philip - Technical Department
‘Technical Department’ is just a label that does not begin to cover everything that Philip does; delivery driver, website builder, stock checker… Philip is married to Caroline.
